Representative Charlie Dent (PA-15) made the following statement regarding President Obama’s veto of the bill authorizing construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline:

“It’s disappointing to see President Obama veto the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline. Building the Keystone Pipeline would create jobs, increase North American energy independence, improve our domestic energy infrastructure and strengthen our relationship with Canada.  Unfortunately, President Obama has once again demonstrated that to him ideology trumps good governance and the will of the American people. The construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline brings together Americans from across the political spectrum including the National Association of Manufacturers and the Laborers’ International Union of North America.

Despite President Obama’s veto, I believe Congress should continue its bipartisan effort to get this infrastructure project underway.”
