ALLENTOWN, PA – In response to the murders of Officer Justin Martin and Sergeant Anthony Beminio in Des Moines, Iowa, Congressman Charlie Dent (PA-15) offered the following statement:

“The news out of Iowa this morning is horrific, and my deepest sympathies and prayers go out to the families of Officer Martin and Sergeant Beminio. Very little can be said to heal the overwhelming anguish Iowa and our law enforcement community are suffering today, but I stand in solidarity with the Urbandale Police Department and the city of Des Moines as they grieve in the wake of this despicable attack. Law enforcement officers play a crucial role in upholding peace and stability within our communities from coast to coast. Tragically, targeted violence against law enforcement has become a recurring theme this year. In response, we must fully support and stand up for law enforcement officers in our communities and continue to advocate for civil order over violence and instability.”
