LEHIGH VALLEY, PA - Congressman Charlie Dent (PA-15) offered his congratulations and praise for his colleague Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen (NJ-11) who will take the gavel as Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee in the 115th Congress.
“It has been a pleasure to work with my friend, Rodney, on numerous important legislative issues since we began serving together. He’s a man of great integrity with an outstanding grasp of the Appropriations process. His elevation to the Chairmanship of the House Appropriations Committee is certainly well-deserved,” Dent said.
Rep. Dent, a strong proponent of the regular order budget process, is confident that Congressman Frelinghuysen will do his utmost to steer vital spending legislation through the Committee with the same alacrity and legislative mastery as the Appropriations Committee’s most recent Chair, Rep. Hal Rogers of Kentucky.
“It was an honor to serve as a subcommittee Chairman under Rep. Rogers,” noted Dent. “He understood the great importance of moving bills through the Appropriations subcommittees with both necessary speed and deliberation. I am highly confident that Rep. Frelinghuysen will continue to place an emphasis on getting the various spending bills through the Committee on time and in good order. Rep. Frelinghuysen understands the stability doing so brings to the entire governing process,” concluded Congressman Dent.
Dent will continue to serve as the Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee for Military Construction and Veterans Affairs in the 115th Congress.
