WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent (PA-15) today issued the following statement on the recent inappropriate remarks made by radio personality Rush Limbuagh:

"I have received requests from constituents who asked for my comments on Rush Limbaugh's recent, incendiary remarks. Ordinarily, I don't comment publicly on the remarks of various television and radio commentators or bloggers -- either left or right.  If I did, I wouldn't have time for much else.  However, given the amount of attention afforded to Mr. Limbaugh's remarks and requests for my opinion, I will comment.

"Rush Limbaugh's remarks were beyond inappropriate and need to be repudiated. They were over the top, outrageous and insulting. His apology is appropriate and I hope it will put an end to this sordid matter.

“I would also urge everyone engaged in the American political debate to refrain from incendiary rhetoric, on both the political left and right, which distracts us all from the important work that must be done to grow our economy, create jobs and lower energy costs.”
