ALLENTOWN, PA – Congressman Charlie Dent (PA-15) made the following statement regarding the harrowing events in New York, New Jersey, and Minnesota this weekend, as well as the apprehension of bombing suspect Ahmad Khan Rahami:

“The news out of New York, New Jersey, and Minnesota is heartbreaking; my prayers are with the victims and their families. Today, we grieve with the people of St. Cloud, Minnesota over this senseless violence, and we remain thankful that the bombings in New York and New Jersey did not involve more casualties. I am proud of local, state, and federal law enforcement officers who remained vigilant in apprehending Ahmad Khan Rahami. Their swift actions have prevented additional chaos and helped protect American lives, even at the cost of injury to themselves. Americans will respond to these events the way they have responded to past tragedies: with resilience to press on and a refusal to be cowed by fear.”
