WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent (PA-15) today was sworn in as Representative of the 15th District of Pennsylvania for the 112th Congress. Entering his fourth term in the U.S. House of Representatives, Dent will serve as one of the newest members of the powerful Appropriations Committee. Dent identified the need to restore fiscal responsibility in Washington as his top priority in the new Congress.
“In the 112th Congress, I plan to work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to promote greater fiscal discipline,” Dent said. “Under previous leadership, the overindulgent and unsustainable spending habits of Congress have generated record levels of debt and likely slowed economic growth. As a new member of the Appropriations Committee, I am eager to craft legislation that allocates tax dollars in a responsible and frugal manner.”
