This September 11 marks eight years since the terrorist attacks that claimed the lives of more than 3,000 people on American soil. The growing distance of time does not dampen the grief and outrage we felt as a nation that day. We will never forget.
Our thoughts and prayers are with our friends and neighbors who lost loved ones that terrible day eight years ago. They are with the first responders who keep us safe in our communities. They are with American soldiers, sailors, Marines, airmen, and counter-intelligence agents stationed around the world who protect us. And they are with our nation, that we remain stalwart in our defense against tyranny, radical extremism and oppression.
