U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent today issued the following statement upon learning of the relocation of Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani, one of the individuals connected to the 1998 bombings at the US Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, to the Southern District of New York for prosecution:

“Some are referring to this as a ‘test case.’ This is not a test case. Ghailani was the subject of an indictment following the FBI’s largest overseas investigation in its history. Over 300 FBI agents descended upon East Africa and conducted more than 1,000 interviews to secure an indictment. This is a far cry from many of the other detainees pulled from safe houses or captured on the field of battle.”
