Veterans Career Resource Day

Hosted by Congressman Dent

On Friday, December 16th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Congressman Dent will be hosting a Veterans Career Resource Day at Northampton Community College’s Fowler Family Southside Center in rooms 301 & 305. This event will connect veterans of all ages, including those returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, with resources to ensure success in today’s challenging job market. Employers from across the region will be on hand and representatives from the Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and CareerLink® Lehigh Valley will conduct informative workshops on resume writing skills and interview techniques. Additionally, officials from the VA will be present to discuss Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits and the US Small Business Administration (SBA) will provide information on its Patriot Express loan program.

This event is free and open to veterans seeking new employment, a change in career, or resources to maximize professional opportunities. While there is no need to RSVP, attendees may want to arrive early on December 16th. Veterans with all levels of experience, training, and education are welcome. If you plan to attend, please remember to bring copies of your resume and writing materials for meetings with potential employers and skill-building seminars.
